Aberdeen Hat And Mittens Drive For Children

Bookmark and Share

You never know when the winter weather will hit in South Dakota. That’s why the Aberdeen Area Ambassadors Group got a head start on their Christmas project this year.

They will be collecting gently used or new hats, mittens, and winter wear items for Aberdeen area schools and children in need.

A donation box will be available for drop offs at the Aberdeen area Chamber of Commerce on Main St. through Thurs. Nov. 14

"It’s heart breaking when you go out and you see the little kids going to school and coming out for recess, and that sort of thing without the appropriate winter attire. So, we’re hoping to have a good turnout of collection of items, and to hopefully warm up some fingers and ears for the little kids this year,” said Judy Vrchota, Aberdeen Ambassadors Group Chairperson.

Those who donate will also receive a ticket for a free prize to be given away at the “Business After Hours” event on Nov. 14.
