Pierre's Wait For State Is Over!

Bookmark and Share

PIERRE, S.D.  --  The Pierre football team ended one long wait last night.  Next week they'll have a chance to end a longer one.

Pierre defeated Harrisburg 45-13 in the 11AA State Semifinals, advancing to their first state championship game in 25 years (they lost to O'Gorman in 1988).

The wait between championships has been even longer.  The Govs last state title was a mythical one in 1914.   They'll have a chance to end that drought on Friday in the 11AA State Championship against Watertown at the Dakota Dome at 7:30.
