1st state football title for Battlers!

Bookmark and Share

The Battlers had been to 7 previous state championship games. But Thursday in the Dakotadome they won their first title in convincing fashion, beating undefeated Leola/Frederick 60-22. Potter County jumped out to a 25-0 lead right away thanks the Chayce Hall's right arm. Before the game was over, he had thrown for 466 yards and 8 touchdowns as the run-oriented Battlers shocked the Titans who scored 22 points in the 2nd quarter but were shut out in the second half. Vern Smith was very emotional about the first state title in school history.
