We all day-dream about living an exotic and lavish life; crossing the globe in a jet, soaking in the sun on a yacht, or having celebrity neighbors. That idea could become a reality tonight for someone playing the Mega Millions lottery.
Early this morning, Mega Millions was at $586 million. By the afternoon that number had climbed to $636 million, continuing to climb as people buy more and more tickets.
That makes this drawing the second largest in American lottery history, right behind the record $656 million drawing in 2012. The possibility of instant wealth has a lot of people thinking of what they would do with the money.
Scott Brakke, from Sioux Falls, wants his family to be happy, "I’d buy a house, give a lot of it away, sit on it; I have lots of family so we'd be all happy for a long time."
While an unnamed man wants to make sure other people can benefit from a win, "St. Jude’s, where all the kids that are sick with cancer, Children’s Miracle Network I would definitely donate to that.”
Keeping his wife in mind, Tyler Haeffner keeps it simple, "I’d probably get a horse for the wife, get a new place to live, and probably fix up my truck.”
The possibilities are nearly endless with that kind of money, and perhaps someone in the Sioux Empire will wake up a wealthy, wealthy person.
