A huge bust by state and federal wildlife officers in Todd County leads to 18 people facing charges connected to illegal hunting at a lodge run by John and Kathryn Chauncey.
The total fines ad up to $235,000.
The Chaunceys are accused of holding illegal hunts involving deer and pheasants. According to prosecutors the hunters came from Michigan, Texas and New Jersey for guided hunts at Rock Creek Ranch.
John Chauncey pled guilty and was sentenced to two months in jail and ordered to pay more than $92,000 in restitution. His wife was fined $10,000 and put on probation.
Investigators say the Chaunceys and their clients unlawfully killed a minimum of 56 deer, hawks, owls, badgers, and turkeys.
