Two people were arrested after trying to outrun Sioux Falls police early Monday.
According to police, at around 1 a.m. an officer saw a dark suburban swerving near Falls Park and the driver acting erratically behind the wheel. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver took off eastbound on Rice Street, eventually leaving the roadway near a wooded area. The driver and passenger abandoned the vehicle and officers used a canine to track down and arrest the suspects.
Twenty-eight-year-old Richard Pounds of Wagner was arrested for Aggravated Eluding, Driving Suspended, and moving violations. Twenty-one-year old Alonna Weddell of Sioux City was arrested on previous warrants.
