With the spring like weather, hundreds dusted off their clubs and headed to local golf courses. It's opening weekend for many courses in the Sioux Empire.
Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls opened their driving range Wednesday and opened the course this weekend. They expected 150 people to be at the course just Sunday.
That's about average for opening weekend, but it means they will be busy. Golf Professional Danny Sinksen says even though the weather may not be perfect for golfing later this week, but the course is open for the rest of the season.
"It's really hit and miss in South Dakota. You might get a few days where it's real nice and a couple that arent but I think golfers are anxious to play so they'll kind of put up with anything," said Elmwood Golf Professional, Danny Sinksen.
Sinksen says their t-times are jam-packed. They are even expecting some out-of-towner's for opening weekend.
