It's hard to call the longest tenured Minnesota Viking an old man.
Brian Robison, Vikes DL says:"Well heck I mean Chad's been here more years than me but I'm almost as old as he is so I can't call him an old man too much."
Yet aside from Adrian Peterson, Chad Greenway is the most recognizable, and respected, face on the Vikings.
Mike Zimmer, Vikings Head Coach says:"He's very hard on himself. Sometimes he should just let it go a little bit quicker. But I'd rather have it that way than not care. He cares!"
Chad Greenway, Vikes LB/Mt. Vernon native says:"It's different...it's a big change, especially when I've been in the same situation for 8 years. I like what we're doing...I like the approach and the mentality and I'm having fun playing football. I think if you're not having fun in your 9th season something's wrong with you..."
Chad's familiar #52 is back in Mankato but there've been a lot of other changes including new head coach Mike Zimmer. But for all of that, it still appears that Chad is a mainstay.
Mike Zimmer says:"He's the kind of guy who really represents the Vikings...a good guy, smart guy...plays real real hard. Those kind of things are extremely important for guys like Anthony Barr to watch how a true professional goes about a game..."
And there's no desire to stop yet....
Chad Greenway says:"I came in in great condition and ready to go. I'm never gonna put a cap on it. When it stops being fun..."
....Knowing how far he's come from Mount Vernon.
Greenway says:"Just trying to continue working every day to represent South Dakota well and my family well. That's really what it's all about. Having pride when you go home and lay down. To me you can't take that away from me..."
