South Dakota Wildlife Officials estimate that more than a ton of dead fish have been cleaned up at Wall Lake.
The lake is located west of Sioux Falls.
The state department of Game, Fish and Parks says low oxygen in the water probably caused the fish kill.
The agency set up dump sites both at the lake and at the Sioux Falls Landfill.
Lake residents were busy all weekend cleaning up their docks.
GF&P experts say it might take a year or two to fully restock the lake with fish.
