UPDATE:Sioux Falls Man Accused of Child Abuse Found Not Guilty

A five day Minnehaha county jury trial is over. Jurors found a Sioux Falls man accused of a 2008 aggravated assualt and child abuse case not guilty on both counts.
28-year-old Utkarsh Vijayvergiya was charged with aggravated assault and child abuse.
The state of South Dakota called several doctors to testify about the baby's injuries.
A private pediatric forensics pathologist testified for the defense, who suggested the child could have stopped breathing because of a virus.
Vijayvergiya faced up to 25 years behind bars.
Correction: The infant in this case is still alive.
