For the third straight game the Sioux Falls Pheasants won in dramatic fashion. This time the win earned them the North Division pennant.
Beau Torbert drove in the game-winning run in the top of the 12th inning and the Lincoln Saltdogs left the tying-run on second base as the Birds won 4-3, sweeping the best-of-five playoff series three games to none. It was the third straight one-run game in this series.
Ryan Shaver picked up the win, pitching three innings of relief. Aaron Cotter earned the save. Gus Milner went 2-for-4 in the game, driving in two runs.
The Pheasants now advance to the American Association championship series, which begins Tuesday. They will be on the road for games one and two against the winners of the South Division. The Shreveport-Bossier Captains currently lead that series 2-1 over the Pensacola Pelicans.
