Halloween is just around the corner, and with all the sweets and treats your kids will be getting, it's nice to have a few healthy snacks as well.
The FitChic Annie Mello from CPMFITness has a few creative ideas for you:
- celery sticks
- deli turkey or chicken
Spread hummus on celery sticks. Tear off small pieces of deli meat and wrap them around the celery sticks-- like a mummy!
- hard boiled eggs
- black olives
Cut hard boiled eggs in half, lengthwise. Cut black olives in half and in smaller pieces to assemble as spiders on top of the eggs.
- mini chocolate chips
- chocolate covered nuts or coffee beans
Peel and cut bananas in half. Press two mini chocolate chips into the banana near the end like eyes, and press the chocolate covered nut or coffee bean just below the chips like a mouth-- ghost bananas!
- clementine oranges
- permanent marker
Draw jack-o-lantern faces on the clementine rind, or peel the oranges and place a small bit of celery in the top to act as a pumpkin stem.
