SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -

This is set to be a great weekend in downtown Sioux Falls. First, the Parade of Lights takes over Phillips Avenue Friday night. Then Saturday, shoppers are encouraged spend the day downtown shopping for gifts for family and friends.

Brienne Maner with Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. says downtown is the place to be this weekend. This is the 25h annual Parade of Lights, and Maner says there will be 55 groups this year including, of course, Santa at the very end of the parade. Maner says after the parade is over, people are encouraged to go to the Holiday Inn for more celebrations, visiting with Santa, and to hear the winners of the parade categories.

Nancy Savage, owner of Child's Play Toys downtown, says they are filled to the ceiling with the hottest toys this season. She says they also have racks and tables full of clothes for your little ones, too. Child's Play Toys will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The 25th Annual Parade of Lights is Friday night starting at 7:30 p.m. The parade route is slightly different this year than years past. The route will run down Phillips Avenue from 13th Street to 5th Street.
