SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -

We've had a small taste of what's the come the past few days-- the cold will be here soon! There's so many in our own community who don't have the proper clothing to battle the temperatures. So, LifeScape is teaming up with Dairy Queen to keep people warm during their Dressing for Thanksgiving campaign.

Kim Haiar from LifeScape says the organization is all about empowering adults and children with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives, and she says part of that is making sure they have everything that everyone else does-- like warm clothes. She says many people don't have the resources to get those things to keep them warm, and many of the people they help have stepped forward asking for help getting those warm clothes.

Irene Zinniel, operations manager at DQ, says all five DQ locations have built their own turkey display covered with mini turkey tags with requests from adults and children for a specific clothing item they'd like. Every person who brings back an item for the turkey "tree" will also get a free cone. No need to wrap the gift, just bring it to the Dairy Queen you took it from and they'll do the rest!

Participating Dairy Queen locations are on 57th and Western, Minnesota Avenue, 12th and Kiwanis, 26th and Marion, and 10th Street. Dressing for Thanksgiving goes October 12 through 30.
