Man Jumps Into River To Save Deer

An Iowa man risked his life to jump in to a swollen river to save a deer.

Heavy rains caused the river to swell, and the small deer was no match for the powerful current. The deer was struggling and eventually became tired and nearly drowned.

One man tethered himself to a rail and got in the water with a life jacket. They hoisted the deer out of the water, and then carefully took it to a truck.

The man who jumped in the water did not want to be identified or interviewed, but he was praised by everyone who witnessed his brave, heroic act.
