Thursday night at the Museum of Visual Materials it's mom's night out for National Eating Healthy Day.
The American Heart Association is teaming up with the South Dakota Beef Industry Council for a night of cooking demos, eating with friends, wine, and learning more about healthy eating for you and your family.
Chrissy Meyer with the American Heart Association says the National Eating Healthy Day event is a night for moms to learn some new recipes, as well as learn to batch cook to prepare meals for up to an entire week.
Holly Swee with the South Dakota Beef Industry Council says beef is an essential part of a heart-healthy diet, though many people think the opposite. She says you can have 4 to 5.5 ounces of beef a day, but it's important to have proper portion sizes of all the other food groups as well. She says that's what keeps your heart healthy-- a balanced diet of all food groups.
