MOORHEAD, Minn. -

The killing of a North Dakota State University student from Minnesota remains a mystery two years later.

Sartell native Tom Bearson was 18 years old and a freshman nursing student. He disappeared on Sept. 20, 2014, after attending a party in Fargo, North Dakota. Three days later, Bearson's body was found in a commercial lot in Moorhead. An autopsy found he died from "homicidal violence."

Moorhead Police Lt. Tory Jacobson says Bearson's death is not a cold case. Jacobson says investigators remain active on the case, and it remains a top priority for police.
Bearson's cellphone and one of his shoes were never found. Authorities still have not identified a person of interest or a motive.

A reward is available for anyone who helps solve the killing.
