A Brookings native has made it to the season 8 finale of NBC's "American Ninja Warrior".

Jake Murray, who currently lives in Denver, Colo. is competing in his second run on the show. In Monday night's episode, Jake finished the course to make it to the season finale to compete for a $1 million prize.

Anthony Murray, Jake's father says he and his wife are happy for their son's success. He also noted a fanny pack that Jake wears while competing on "American Ninja Warrior".

"It was a gift from some young fans.  He said he was so flattered by their kindness he promised he would wear it for one of his runs," Anthony Murray says.
