PIERRE, S.D. -

Attorney General Marty Jackley says he's forming a political committee with about $700,000 in the bank as he prepares to run for governor in 2018.

Jackley told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the group will include funds from his attorney general committee and a separate political action committee.

On Monday, Rep. Kristi Noem announced she would not seek re-election to the U.S. House, instead opting to run for governor of South Dakota in 2018.
