MITCHELL, S.D. -

Engine problems forced a turboprop plane flying from Minot, North Dakota, to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to make an emergency landing in the South Dakota city of Mitchell.

Mitchell Airport Manager Mike Scherschligt tells The Daily Republic newspaper that the pilot was the only one aboard and wasn't hurt in the Tuesday night incident. Authorities didn't identify him.

Officials determined the plane's problems were caused by an overheating engine.
