ABERDEEN, S.D. -

A state investigation into an officer-involved shooting in Aberdeen last month has deemed the officer's actions justified.

Attorney General Marty Jackley and the Division of Criminal Investigation Friday released the summary into the shooting of Ehkhu Poe on August 14, in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

The incident occurred on August 14, after a call to service near the intersection of S. Marshall St. and 4th Ave. SE in Aberdeen.

“It is my conclusion as Attorney General that Officer Ty Reinke was justified in firing his weapon and using lethal force. I would like to thank the Aberdeen Police Department and the Officer for their service and complete cooperation in this investigation,” stated Attorney General Jackley.

The Division of Criminal Investigation conducted the investigation at the request of the Aberdeen Police Department.
