SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -

Five people were arrested last night in Sioux Falls after police say they were stealing out of unlocked cars.

Police were called to a business parking lot on the west side of town around 11:30 p.m.

When they arrived, a group of people were breaking into a couple of cars.

The group consisted of two men, two women and a 14 year old girl.

Police say stolen items included several cell phones, a wallet and a handgun that was reported stolen in August.

"This is a huge reminder to lock your car doors,” says Sgt. Sean Kooistra with the Sioux Falls Police Department. “Not only in the situation where these individuals were going through a business lot and just trying car doors, but also in the incident of the firearm itself and how they came into possession of it, that too came from an unlocked car.”

Here is a list of the 5 arrested and their charges.

Iman Karimpour, 18, was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of concealed weapon, contributing to a delinquency and criminal entry of a motor vehicle.

Fern Santiago, 22, was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of concealed weapon, contributing to a delinquency and criminal entry of a motor vehicle.
