A former Garretson School District business manager was back in court Monday.
Rodney Bernard Fischer, 59, has pleaded guilty to one count of soliciting a minor, a class 4 felony. He was accused of responding to an online ad where a Homeland Security official, posing as a mother, wanted her 13-year-old daughter to learn about sex. He was arrested June 7.
Fischer's plea deal included serving a suspended prison sentence, supervised probation and reducing his bond from $500,000 to $5,000. He is now required to register as a sex offender and have no contact with any unrelated person under the age of 18.
In court Monday, Fischer's representation said during a search of Fischer's home, there was no evidence other than his conversation with the Homeland Security official that he had previous sexual contact with a minor.
