SIOUX FALLS, S.D -

U.S. Representative Kristi Noem is elected to a fourth term in office.

"I am tough and I can do it," Noem said during her speech on Election night.

The Associated Press declared the incumbent the winner of South Dakota’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Democrat Paula Hawks is Noem’s opponent for the House seat.

Noem is seeking her fourth term in the House. She first ran for House in 2010, versus Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin. She was re-elected in 2012, beating Matthew Varilek and in 2014, beating Corinna Robinson.

She has also served two terms in the State House in 2006 to 2010.
