BROOKINGS, S.D. -

A Lake Preston, S.D., woman has been identified as the person who died in a two-vehicle crash Friday west of Brookings.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Cheryl Hartman, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hartman was driving east on U.S. Highway 14 when she crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound vehicle, officials say.

There were three juveniles in the westbound vehicle, including a 4-year-old girl who suffered life threatening injuries.

The female driver of the Pontiac Grand Prix, Jennifer Moser, 27, Brookings, S.D., also sustained life threatening injuries. The injured individuals were transported to a Sioux Falls hospital.

Everyone involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts. The youngest juvenile was not in a child restraint system.
