AVON, S.D. -

Public outcry may stop another wind farm as a South Dakota agency considers approving the withdrawal of a permit to build a 100-turbine wind farm in Charles Mix and Bon Homme counties.
The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission will consider approving Prevailing Winds LLC's withdrawal of the permit Tuesday.
Prevailing Winds filed its application for withdrawal last month based on claims that incorrect information about the project spread.
If the company doesn't file another permit application for the project, it'll be the third wind farm in eight months to be rejected by nearby residents.
Letcher Township's Board of Supervisors and the Davison County Commission have taken action to block proposed wind farms in their respective areas since February.
