A Sioux Falls man is in jail after police say he kidnapped and raped a 15-year-old. They say the man abducted the girl as she was leaving school Wednesday afternoon.

It's what parents warn their children about. Just after 3 p.m. that nightmare became a reality for one Sioux Falls teenager.

"He grabbed her and actually put her inside the car," said Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens.

Police say a 15-year-old was walking to a friends house from Lincoln High School when a man in a dark SUV pulled up to her. They say 34-year-old Jason Becker asked her if she wanted a ride, and like parents tell their children to do, she refused several times. That's when police say Becker pulled over, grabbed her, and put her in his vehicle.

"He locked the doors and started driving and while they were driving, he still had a hand on her holding onto her." Clemens said, "He physically brought her into his apartment."

While Becker was carrying the teen inside his home on the 900 block of S. Newcomb Avenue, police say a motorist noticed the odd behavior and stopped briefly. When he put her down, they continued driving not knowing what would come next.

"Once they were there, he had her inside the apartment and sometime in the next few hours he ended up sexually assaulting her," said Clemens.

The victim told police that Becker left his apartment to get a friend, that's when the she fled. The girl stopped a man walking his dog, who took her to a gas station. Police received a call at 9:30 p.m., more than six hours after she was first abducted.

Clemens said, "The whole time he had her there, she just didn't feel like she could leave."

Police say she was scared of what he would do to her.

The victim was able to tell police where Becker lives. That's where police arrested him.

Police say Becker recently moved from California to Sioux Falls. He is charged with 2nd and 4th degree rape as well as kidnapping. Becker is expected to appear in court Friday.
