A big box store in Sioux Falls will close before the end of the year. The Kmart on East 10th Street confirms it's going out of business.

The retail giant, owned by Sears Holdings says recently it's been closing unprofitable stores.

This location's liquidation sale starts Thursday, and the store will officially close before Christmas likely in mid-December.

The company wouldn't say how many employees this will affect, but they'll get severance if they're eligible and can apply for open positions at area Sears or other Kmart stores.
