The 24th ranked Dakota State Trojans improved to 4-1 with a 36-17 homecoming win over Jamestown.

Dakota State (S.D.) played its first game as a ranked team at No. 24, first time since 1998 that DSU has been ranked as high as No. 16.

The Trojans also posted its best start at 4-1 for the first time since 1998. It was the first time in school history that Dakota State scored 30-plus points in the first five games of the season!

Austin Opdahl finished the game with 8 catches for 175 yards and caught three touchdowns. It was his fifth straight game that he had over 100 yards receiving, this third game with 175 or more receiving yards. It was also his fourth game this season that he caught three touchdown passes!

Jacob Giles finished the game by going 20 of 39 with 298 yards and 4 touchdowns. It was his fourth game this season that Giles threw 4 or more touchdown passes in a game. He had 22 touchdown passes this season, only 2 interceptions.
