MINNEAPOLIS, MN -

It was an electric environment at US Bank Stadium on Sunday night in the first ever home game in the brand new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings...and boy, the majority of the 67,000 fans here went home really happy when they pulled out a 17-14 win over their arch rivals, the Green Bay Packers.

Sam Bradford played well. He threw a pair of touchdown passes, first to Kyle Rudolph and then to his favorite receiver Stefon Diggs who had 9 catches for 182 yards and a touchdown. He was brilliant.

But the defense was the strength. Brian Robison had a key strip late in the game and then Trae Waynes with the biggest play of his professional career gets the interception with 2:00 left in the game to seal the victory 17-14 the Vikings win their first game ever at US Bank Stadium.

"We just stood up, I mean every personnel group we brought in was getting tired, we had a couple of guys get beat up and we just kept playing. It was a fun game, a fun atmosphere, I mean it was really fun." Vikings LB & Mount Vernon Native Chad Greenway says.

"Unbelievable, the best atmosphere the best environment I've ever played in. It's an incredible home field advantage and as long we keep taking care of our business in future game then it will be all right." Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph says.

So these folks in purple, they left very happy Sunday night. Their team played a tremendous effort against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers with Jordy Nelson , held them to 14 points and made the key defensive plays they needed and pulled off a 3 point victory to go 2-0.
