South Dakota junior setter Brittany Jessen has been named the Summit League volleyball offensive player of the week for the period ended Sept. 12 as announced by the league office Monday.

Jessen collects the weekly award for the fourth time of her career and the second time this season.

Jessen led the Coyotes to their second tournament win of the season, capturing the Pacific Community Classic with three-straight victories. Senior outside hitter Audrey Reeg was named the tournament’s MVP and Jessen joined her on the all-tournament team. South Dakota has won nine-straight matches since their season opener for a 9-1 record.

The Mendota Heights, Minn., native recorded a triple-double with 40 assists, 10 kills and 10 digs in a 3-1 win over tournament host, Pacific, to clinch the title. Jessen averaged 36.7 assists, 9.7 digs and 6.3 kills in the three-game tournament.

South Dakota travels to Iowa City, Iowa, for the Iowa Invitational this weekend. The Coyotes open against Lamar at 1 p.m. Friday.
