BROOKINGS, SD -

The top-ranked Harrisburg Tigers played like it Thursday afternoon at the State AA Volleyball Tournament in Brookings. Lincoln had swept them in the first round of the Districts on their home floor, but Sam Slaughter (14 kills) and her teammates took control early and swept the Patriots. In the other afternoon game Aberdeen got off to a flying start against Huron and never looked back. Karli Gardner had 21 kills and Paiton Burckhard 18, off-setting a fine performance by Karlissa Schroder who had 21 for Huron.
