Snow has wrapped up across the area, but man those winds are still very strong from the north at 25 to 35 mph that means we still have some blowing snow. The good news is that the wind and clouds should decrease as we head into the overnight tonight, but things are going to be quite chilly…
Overnight lows will drop into the single digits for those that have clear skies and snow pack. Winds still from the north at 10 to 20 mph will lead to wind chills near zero at times. Streets will be icy so watch out! Most of the area should be under clear skies, but clouds will move in from the northwest. Temperatures will be warmest in northern South Dakota into the mid-to-upper teens. Through the day on Saturday we will see a lot more cloud cover build in, especially through the afternoon and that might bring a few flurries for those that live closer to the North Dakota border. Temperatures will be into the mid-20s where we had that snow, but into the low-to-mid 30s where we have less snowpack.
Snow showers will be light overnight Saturday and will clear out quickly as we move into the early morning. That will allow for some sunshine and warmth to move back in. Sunday’s temps will be into the mid-to-upper 30s and in some spots the 40s!
Overall we will have a nice and quiet weekend, even if it is not as warm as it was last weekend. Be safe out there, I know that many will be out traveling!
