Election night in Sioux Falls was a good night for incumbents.

Greg Jamison was elected in 2008 and will continue to sit on the council. Jamison received over 65% of the vote. Beating out Lyndsey Dematteo and Kyle Vanderlinden. Jamison said he is eager and excited to serve another term on the council.

“I am excited. There are a lot of changes coming for Sioux Falls and a lot of challenges for us. It takes a lot of work but it’s worth it,” said Jamison.

In the northeast district, Council Member Kenny Anderson Jr. kept his seat against challenger, Nicole Wilson.

Anderson said he is eager to continue to work on affordable housing and the cities infrastructure.

The northwest district winner was incumbent Dean Karsky who squared off against James Ysbrand.

Karsky says he is ready to continue serving the people of Sioux Falls in the future.

"We're going to be building a huge events center. It's going to be a fantastic thing for our community. So, watching that come to fruition while sitting on the council, I think is going to be fantastic,” said Karsky.

The winners of the district races make up three of the eight spots on the city council.
