Dozens of people gathered together for a candle vigil to mourn the loss of 33-year-old Philip Sorensen.
His loved ones met together at the intersection of 26th and Minnesota Thursday night, holding candles and talking about the memories they shared with Philip.
Neal banally, Philip's neighbor of six years, said Philip loved to kayak, canoe and fly fish and says his time was cut way too short.
"Phil was a great guy, he cared about people, he loved life, spoke of his family often and, he's just a great guy," said Beanally.
Benally said he hopes texting and driving is banned in South Dakota to prevent any more innocent lives being taken.
