U.S. House Candidates Take A Minute To Vote

Bookmark and Share

Even though it's election day, the campaigning still hasn't come to an end for Democratic Candidate Matt Varilek.

Varikek said, "There are, in fact, people who are undecided. I run into them and I'm thrilled to find them willing to talk about some last minute issues and I feel like just this (Tuesday) morning we've tipped a few people in our direction."

Like most days, his began bright and early, trying to wrangle up some last minute votes.

Varilek said, "We started shaking hands this morning at 7 o'clock. I've been all over town and this caps off a journey around the state where we've been encouraging people to get out and vote."

At around 10 a.m. Tuesday, Varilek did take a few minutes to voice his opinion one more time. His opponent, Congresswoman Kristi Noem sent out a press release telling the media she would be voting at noon in Hazel near her hometown of Castlewood.

Instead, she chose to cast her vote at around 9 a.m. Tuesday. We do know she was campaigning as late as Monday in Rapid City. She was talking to her constituents over the phone hoping to get the chance to represent South Dakotans once again, but she'll have to get through Varilek guy first.

"I feel good about the moves that we've made and efforts that we've made to win voters over and I'm hopeful that they're going to decide I'm the person to represent South Dakota," said Varilek.
