Huron Man Jailed For Weekend Shooting

Police say a 19-year-old Huron man is in jail after a a shooting early Saturday morning.
Officials say officers responded to reports of gunshots coming from the 1000 block of Wisconsin Avenue SW just after 5 a.m. They say Tyrell Marvin Tompkins was involved in a domestic dispute and fired several shots from a .22 caliber rifle before fleeing the scene.
Tompkins was taken into custody a short time later without further incident. No injuries were reported from the shooting.
Tompkins faces a long list of charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, driving under the influence, open container in a moving vehicle, intentional damage to property, and underage consumption.
Tompkins is in custody at the Beadle County Jail.
