Sioux Falls Church Hands Out Squash

As cooks across the country get ready for Thanksgiving, a Sioux Falls church is handing out some of the ingredients.
Wednesday Faith Temple Church gave away a couple thousand pounds of squash in four different varieties that were donated by the Garden of Weedin’ near Valley Springs.
Organizers say they only started planning this giveaway Tuesday.
As far as Faith Temple's food giveaways go, this one was on the smaller side. Still, they say they’re happy to help in any way with the holiday meal.
“However the food comes in, if it's 2,000 pounds or if it's 40,000 pounds, we're just thankful, and we're always glad to get it into the hands of people that need it,” said Pastor Jeff Hayes.
Faith Temple Church hosts a food giveaway for people and families in need most Fridays at the fairgrounds. The church will not host a giveaway this Friday because of the holiday.
