USD Women Fall at Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Brittany Chambers scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Kansas State dropped South Dakota 68-54 on Sunday at Bramlage Coliseum.

Nicole Seekamp led South Dakota (4-6) with 11 points, while Tempestt Wilson added nine points.  Margaret McCloud reached double-digit rebounds for the third consecutive game with 12.  

Chambers, a preseason All-Big 12 choice, went 12 of 23 in the game.  She also recorded four assists and three steals.

Kansas State (7-0) went on a 22-2 run over 10 game minutes to break away from the Coyotes, with Briana Craig scoring 11 of her 14 points in that time.  The Wildcats forced eight turnovers and went 10 of 18 shooting over that run.  

Kansas State led 37-21 at the break, but South Dakota outscored the Wildcats in the second half, 33-31. The Coyotes got to the free throw line often, going 14 for 15 from the charity stripe in the second half.  The Yotes went 16 for 17 at the free throw line in the game.

The South Dakota bench outscored Kansas State’s 25-11.  The Coyotes also equaled the Wildcats in rebounds, 35-35.

South Dakota will return home to host Peru State on Dec. 15 at 5 p.m.
