SD Senators React To Fiscal Cliff

Most in Washington D.C. say the deal senators agreed upon isn't perfect but are pleased with middle class Americans being spared from tax hikes.
Senator Tim Johnson says he's happy that millionaires and billionaires will be paying more taxes.
“We can't get our fiscal house in order on the backs of the elderly and students. The richest among us will now pay a little more to improve our fiscal situation."
Senator John Thune agrees more work needs to be done.
“I don't think taxes should be going up on anyone, but doing nothing would have resulted in taxes going up on everyone. Now the debate must turn to reducing Washington's runaway spending, which is the only way to restore fiscal stability to our nation.”
The U.S. House of Representatives still has to vote on the Senate’s compromise.
