People in Sioux Falls can now download a lifesaving smart phone application citywide.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue and the Avera Heart Hospital developed ‘PulsePoint,’ a smart phone app with a goal to enhance cardiac survivability.
This app will alert citizens in the area of an emergency that someone is in need of CPR, in which case they may be closer to helping a person before officials get there.
"It's so easy to use that it tells you not only where the cardiac arrest is occurring, but how close you are to it and also if there's public access defibrillator nearby," said Sioux Falls Fire Chief Jim Sideras.
Sioux Falls is one in 10 cities nationwide using this application.
The app is available for iPhone and android users.
To download, search 'PulsePoint,' under your appliations store.
