35th annual Lewis brings Carson and other top pro's back to Sioux Falls

The temperatures outside are frigid. But inside the Sioux Falls YMCA, there will be plenty of heat.

Rocky Carson says, "This is our job.  We understand it, this is how we make a living and when we get on the court it's time to battle.

The 35th annual Lewis Racquetball Pro-Am brings nearly 125 players to Sioux Falls for an annual event with fanfare beyond compare.

Carson says, "The crowds here really appreciate us.  The fans, we really appreciate them as well."

Jack Huczek, who recently retired from the professional circuit, says Sioux Falls is the place to be this weekend.

Huczek says, "I mean we really get treated first class here.  First class service all week and it's a huge part of why we come.  Great sponsors and great people."

It's the longest running tournament in the United States, in part because of a big purse.

Carson says, "Lewis Drug, giving us an opportunity to walk away with some funding for the weekend and stuff really makes it a good week for us pros and really allows us to do it for a living."

It also has a little bit of South Dakota chill.

Huczek says, "I think that's what gives this tournament character.  Coming here, where you got to be bundled up and wonder if it's going to be 20 below with a blizzard or whatever, makes it more fun inside the courts and makes more people want to come inside and watch us play."
