O'Malley's 40 Lead Centerville Past Beresford

BERESFORD, S.D. -- A battle of girls basketball heavyweights in Class A & B turned into the Kieran O'Malley show.

The Centerville senior scored 40 points to lead the Tornadoes past Beresford 63-53. O'Malley scored 18 points in the first quarter, accounting for all but two of Centerville's points in the opening frame.

Centerville improves to 17-2 and remains one of the top contenders for the state Class B title.

Class A Beresford falls to 14-5.
