Foster lives tall for the Skyforce

Bookmark and Share

The average height of an American man is just a shade under 5 feet, 10 inches. Basketball players usually tower over that mark, but some who make their living on the hardwood haven't been 5 foot anything since elementary school...like Will Foster of the Skyforce.

"Oh My gosh you're tall.. thank you I know.I know." says Will Foster, Skyforce center.

7 feet 5 inches.. an inch shorter than Yao Ming. For the last two seasons Will Foster has been playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce.. And while he won't be on the floor the entire game.. he's definitely someone fans notice..

Foster says..."Well my least favorite thing is people sneak up behind me when I'm not really paying attention and take my picture and I'll catch them and I'll duck out of the way really quick."

While Foster may not enjoy being noticed for his tree like stature.. there are plenty of reasons Will Foster loves being seven inches away from 8 feet.

Foster says..."I love going to concerts so a pro would be is I always have a front row seat.. so I never miss a beat at a concert."

Will Foster towers above oppenents as he battles for loose rebounds.. but Foster knows a person even taller than he is..

"Actually there is a kid back home I met at a church camp.. and he's 7'8" and he's the worlds tallest teenager." says Foster.

Benig too tall for most big and tall stores..Foster has his clothes custom made in India.. but his long legs and skinny waste brings up problems for equipment managers.

"They usually giving me the 4 or 5X so I'm ususally tightening up my shorts pretty tight. I remember in college sometimes the draw strings wouldnt go tight enough so you would have to tape it up" says Will.

A Skyforce player who makes the best of his Sky Scrapper like height.
