The democratic member of South Dakota’s congressional delegation says President Barack Obama is taking the country in the right direction.
But the two republican members say Obama’s state of the union address did not show leadership.
Senator John Thune says Obama failed to offer solutions to out of control spending and the nation’s debt.
Senator Thune says, “The real work begins now and I hope the president is ready to seriously engage with members of congress on both sides of the isle.”
Meanwhile, Senator Tim Johnson says he likes Obama’s focus on jobs, the middle class, and renewable energy. Johnson also said he is disappointed the president didn’t mention the farm bill.
