Authorities in Hutchinson County say a standoff between an armed Parkston man and law enforcement officers has ended peacefully.
The Hutchinson County Sheriff's Department and Parkston police responded to a report of a disorderly person around 4:30 a.m. Saturday in Parkston.
Deputy Dan Schulte and Parkston Police Chief Greg Reichenberg say the man entered a house, grabbed a firearm and barricaded himself in the house for about two hours before coming out of his own accord. The man's name has not been released.
Reichenberg says the man has been cited with simple assault on law enforcement and obstructing a law enforcement officer.
The incident remains under investigation.
