Waubay Man Killed After Car Collides With Train

Authorities say icy conditions may have led to the death of a Waubay man whose car collided with a train Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Jason Lee Campbell, 38, was driving north on 3rd street in Waubay. They believe his car slid on the icy roadway into the path of the oncoming train. Officials say Campbell put the vehicle in reverse but was unable to clear the tracks before the train struck his vehicle. Campbell was not wearing a seatbelt. He was taken to a hospital in Webster, and transferred to a Fargo, N.D. hospital where he died of his injuries.
The driver of the train, an Aberdeen man, was not inured in the crash.
The accident is still under investigation.
