We now know the name and condition of a man who was struck by a vehicle on Sunday morning.
51-year-old Craig S. Clements, of Martin, South Dakota, was attempting to cross Minnesota Ave on foot when a northbound vehicle struck him. Clements suffered multiple fractures and head injuries and is in critical but stable condition. Police say that Clements was drinking earlier that night.
Clements was in the outside northbound lane when he was struck by a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus driven by 32-year-old James T. Suing of Sioux Falls. Police drugs or alcohol are not a factor with Suing.
According to the Sioux Falls Police Department at around 1:16 Sunday morning, members of Sioux Falls Police, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, and Rural Metro Ambulance were dispatched to the 600 block of South Minnesota Ave for a car verses pedestrian accident.
The Sioux Falls Police Crash Reconstruction Team was called out and is currently investigating the collision.
