Bookmark and Share

According to authorities, the cause of a multiple car accident on 41st Street and Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls is still undetermined. The accident happened on February 14th.

Officials say that 34-year-old Troy Hohn was traveling at least 20 miles per hour over the speed limit, northbound on Minnesota Ave before the accident.  Hohn died at the scene.  A family in a vehicle hit by Hohn was injured.

According to Lt. Jerome Miller, drugs, alcohol, mechanical defects in Hohn’s vehicle and apparent medical conditions have been ruled out as causes in the accident. Miller says there was no indication of texting or any cell phone use prior to the crash.

Miller said that information from Hohn’s vehicle shows that he tried breaking before impact.

Officials say that they may never know what Hohn’s mindset was before the accident.
