Xcel Energy is reporting that power has been restored to its customers in Sioux Falls.
At 1:55 this afternoon, a pole started on fire at 33rd Street and Poplar. That caused an outage to the South Sioux Falls substation, which is located at 33rd and Spring.
There were about 8500 customers in central Sioux Falls affected. Crews were able to switch around the problem and get everyone back in at 3:09 p.m.
Xcel will be replacing the pole at 33rd and Poplar Saturday evening.
